Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I am excited to announce my run for re-election to the St. Louis County Board for the 2nd District. It has been an honor to be elected by the citizens of the eastern side of Duluth for two terms as a City Councilor and the past 10 years as a County Commissioner.
I am proud of my work on the County Board. With help from the state legislature, our county was able to have one of the lowest levy increases in the state for 2024 which will give needed property tax relief. I have supported a balanced budget while still providing essential services to St. Louis County.
Some highlights:
Invested $5 million in the “Check and Connect” program to provide mentors to decrease truancy and suspension rates for over 1,000 struggling youth. Data show a 70+% improvement.
Invested over $6 million to create over 150 units of housing options, especially for the elderly, those experiencing homelessness, and those fleeing violence.
Invested over $2 million and partnered with community services to open an Urgent Behavioral Health Center in Duluth (Spring 2024), which will be the first in the state.
Over the 14-plus years of serving the community in public office, I have learned how to be a strong voice for our region and build relationships. In a time of deep divisions in our country, I have the skills to work with others in collaboration to accomplish common goals. These relationships have helped me formulate policies which are efficient and helpful for our community.
My work is not done, I need your help.
Whether a contribution of time, a donation of money (Venmo | printable donation form) or a request for a yard sign, you will be helping to ensure that Duluth’s 2nd District will continue to be represented by a strong progressive voice.
I appreciate your support and your vote and I look forward to continuing to serve St. Louis County.
Sincerely,
Patrick Boyle, 2nd District St. Louis County Commissioner
